Forward Andrew Kozek is tied for � fth all-time at<br />

UND with 167 career games played.<br />

EIDS WIDE SHUT<br />

Freshman G Brad Eidsness (Chestermere,<br />

Alberta) emerged as one <strong>of</strong> the top goalies in<br />

the WCHA in 2008-09, earning All-WCHA third<br />

team and All-WCHA Rookie team honors.<br />

Eidsness went 24-12-4 to join Ed Belfour (29,<br />

1986-87) and Karl Goerhing (23, 2007-08) as<br />

the only rookie goalies in Sioux history to win<br />

20 games. He appeared in the � nal 40 games<br />

<strong>of</strong> the season and started the last 34, both<br />

UND freshman records.<br />

Eidsness’ 41 total appearances were one shy<br />

<strong>of</strong> the school record set in 2007-08 by Jean-<br />

Philippe Lamoureux.<br />

Eidsness led the WCHA in wins (24), overall<br />

winning percentage (.650) and WCHA winning<br />

percentage (.731).<br />

SECOND HALF SURGE<br />

<strong>North</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong> continued its trend under head<br />

coach Dave Hakstol <strong>of</strong> strong second half play.<br />

During Hakstol’s tenure, the Sioux have a<br />

.702 winning percentage (77-28-13) in games<br />

played after Jan. 1:<br />

2004-05: 12-8-3<br />

2005-06: 16-8-0<br />

2006-07: 15-4-4<br />

2007-08: 19-4-3<br />

2008-09: 15-5-3<br />

UND has a .554 winning percentage (53-42-6)<br />

in games played prior to Jan. 1 under Hakstol.<br />
