Defenseman Dane Litke captained the 1997
UND squad that captured the MacNaughton
Cup, the Broadmoor Trophy and the NCAA
championship. a feat accomplished by only two
other WCHA teams (see chart below).

Since the WCHA began its Final Five format in 1993, only two conference teams have won
the conference regular-season title, Final Five title and NCAA title in the same season, North
Dakota in 1997 and Denver in 2005.
