The information you wish to have engraved is up to
the individual.
“Most often people engrave their name, contact number
in case of an emergency, blood type, allergies, address,”
shares Yue-Jin. “It all depends on its intended purpose.
Its usage is not limited to just people who are active in
sports but for the elderly and even children with adverse
allergies. Most often we hear of someone’s father has
wandered off and is missing. The Lifeline ID for people
with Alzheimer’s or even if it’s
early stage of dementia allows for
pertinent information as to the
person’s condition, home address
and next of kin contact is most
helpful. The patient doesn’t have
to remember everything.”
“A customer’s father who was
suffering from early stages of
dementia, went out driving one
day. While he could remember
his name and phone number and
where he was from, he couldn’t
remember his way back. So they
got him a Lifeline ID to be of
assistance should this situation
arise in future.”
There are no limitations to
what you can engrave on these bands. Yue-Jin adds,
“People use this band for different things, some even
use it to motivate themselves, engraving their favourite
inspirational quote that inspires them daily; as long as
it falls within the space available for engraving. Some
corporate people put their favourite quote, albeit long,
from the likes of Robert Kiyosaki and other motivational
gurus, to remind them what they need to do for their
business to thrive.”
It’s also an interesting inclusion for avid travellers.
They can include emergency contact details as well as
their passport number. “Some of my customers buy two:
one to be worn locally with their identity card number

and the other to be worn when travelling abroad with
their passport number. The band has been found to be
useful especially for people who perform the Umrah or
Haj, where movement is amongst large groups of people.”
Having studied communications at the Western
Michigan University as well as worked in media
advertising, Yue-Jin understands the importance of
branding just too well. “There are limited edition pieces
that we introduce from time to time.”
And how has this product helped with easing his
wife’s fears?
“It has helped tremendously,” he laughs. “Now my wife
doesn’t worry as much. I also realised that while I know
the people I cycle with, I don’t
know who to call in case of an
emergency. So having this bracelet
now helps shed some light in that
area.”
There’s a deeper purpose to life
as Yue-Jin sees it. He believes so
much in helping people and what
better way than to create a product
that does just that.
“Through my product, I want
to help people to stay fit and
healthy,” he says, “and in situations
that arise, appropriate medical
treatment can be administered
in a more timely manner. In an
accident, while the ambulance is
en route to the scene, additional
information on the victim’s medical background may
help the medical team prepare themselves better. Even
details such as insurance policy numbers help in case of
an emergency; the hospital can manage the admission
process more efficiently.
“I have witnessed a runner using this band during
a marathon. The runner passed out during the race;
medical attention was administered quickly because of
all the information available on the band. When you see
something like that, you know you have fulfilled your
purpose in wanting to help people.”
