Ethernet-IO-modules allow an efficient
plant design
The new Ethernet IO modules from Pepperl+Fuchs support all common
Ethernet protocols, such as Profinet, Ethernet IP and EtherCAT. The
L-encoded M12 plug, compliant with the power-connection concept
newly defined by the PNO, supplies the connected units with
currents of up to 16 A with no additional installation needs. The
modules can be used independently of the control panel and permit
autonomous applications. They clear the way for distributed signal
transfer within the meaning of
Industrie 4.0. The multiprotocol
feature permits standardization
in the machine where different
module types were previously
required. Change between
protocols by simply using a
rotary selector switch. The IP
address for Ethernet IP can also
be directly set. The integrated
web server allows for complete
parameterization in addition to
addressing, as well as the
retrieval of status and diagnostic
information
via PC.

GigE machine vision camera
– compact and powerful
IDS presents the second generation of the GigE
uEye CP machine vision camera. The CMOS
camera has been completely redeveloped and
designed without compromise for classic
machine vision applications. Measuring just
29 x 29 x 29 mm, it is much more compact than
the preceding model but offers even better
performance. Its enhanced features include
CMOS sensors from Sony, ON Semiconductor,
e2v and CMOSIS, as well as full GigE speed,
single-cable operation up to a length of 100
meters via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), and
screw-on connectors. In addition, the GigE
camera will also be available with support for
the GigE Vision standard or with the proven
IDS Software Suite. The camera series includes
models with 0.5 to 6.4 megapixel resolution
and with monochrome or color sensors.

The new Exx-Series of advanced thermal imaging cameras has been
designed for electrical, mechanical, and building applications: the Flir E75,
E85, and E95. The series features intelligent interchangeable lenses, laserassisted
autofocus modes and area measurement functionality, improvements
to Flir’s MSX imaging technology, and a larger, more vibrant 4-inch touchscreen.
The company developed a new range of compact intelligent,
interchangeable lenses that the camera automatically recognizes and
calibrates, eliminating the need for manual calibration. In conjunction with
Flir Tools, the E75, E85, and E95 are the first Exx cameras to offer UltraMax,
an embedded, super-resolution process that improves effective resolution
by four times - up to 645,888 pixels - and thermal sensitivity by up to 50 %.
A simplified user interface delivers faster, more intuitive operation, and
coupled with enhanced Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Meterlink connectivity,
archiving and report generation has never been easier.
