Alto Sangro, a paradise
within a flight reach
The Alto Sangro ski-area confirms to be a
great destination for the snowkite enthusiasts.
In fact, the area offers many places for kiting
which are served by ski lifts. The Alto Sangro
ski area is also easy to reach thanks to its
central position in relation to the main Italian
airports: 200 km from Rome, 100 km from
Pescara and 130 km from Naples, making
this location easily accessible to the athletes
and offering many spots for snowkiting. Last,
but not least, the seasonal attendance data
makes it a very much-appreciated destination
by those sponsors who want to promote their
brands: in fact, from November to March
the average attendance registered at the ski
resort is of about 3.000.000 people.
In the past recent years, the IFKO World
Championship has had a steady growth
especially in relation to the interest by the
media. There have been numerous TV reports
that reported the event as well as numerous
accreditation requests by journalists. Such
results are determined primarily by the
spectacularity and hybrid nature of Snowkite
which combines skiing and snowboarding to
sailing.
