Also becoming heimish/chassidish is the
area around the intersection of Oak and
Vine, with many duplexes under construction.
Within the past 10 years, Arlington’s
smaller homes from the 1940’s – 1960’s
have made way for large single-family
homes and duplexes. New or newer
houses in the area can cost $500-650k,
with duplexes from the mid-$500s going
up regularly. The older 1100-1400’ foot
homes also regularly reach the market,
with price points in the high $300’s.
Along Pine, Pine River and Somerset
Walk are two options for single family
homes in development settings. While
in Pine River houses start in the mid
$400s for 5 bedrooms, Somerset Walk
homes are a massive 7 bedrooms and
cost about $600k. Pine River is home to
a sizeable Sefardic presence.
Hearthstone, bounded by Route 9,
Cross, and Massachusetts, is a quiet,
mostly yeshivish neighborhood of
bi-levels and some ranches ranging in
price from the high $300s to the mid-
$400s. More recently, development has
beugn on its outskirts, with townhouses
such as Chateu Woods and private
homes on Finchley.
Albert Avenue offers some of the largest
lots in Lakewood. The value of these
houses is typically in the land, which
can be worth $300-400k.
Chestnut Estates comprises diverse
residents, many professional, in private
homes ranging from the mid-$300s
through mid-$400s, with some small
homes available for less.
