Of the other two numbers, when 1/4 comes with either /3 or 1/6,
twelve will be used as it is the lowest common multiple, and when 1/8
appears with either /3 or 1/6, then the lowest common multiple is 24
(which all allotments can fit into).
This lowest common multiple, for practical purposes, will be called
“the sum”.
