Silver Tatosh 2017:
knights, horses and the spirit of the Middle Ages
But for guests in jeans and T-shirts, short dresses or
shorts, with iPhones and cameras, a person arriving to
Chynadiyovo last weekend could easily think that he was
in the Middle Ages.
The old castle, horses, armored knights, women
in historical clothing, antiques and the atmosphere of
a fairy tale - this year’s Silver Tatosh was like a carnival.
Occasionally, things of the present day reminded us that
we were in the 21st century, however, in general, the
atmosphere was as if moved to the past.
The festival is held for the sixth time in the ancient castle
of Saint-Miklos, in Chynadiyovo. It brings together the best
knights from all over Ukraine and from other countries such
as Belarus, Moldova and Hungary. The main features of the
Silver Tatosh are knight fights, medieval reconstructions,
and crafts workshops.
This year the guests could also enjoy an interesting
horse program. In addition to demonstrative performances,
visitors could see a true equestrian tournament. The
spectacle was exciting! There were pairings, and teams,
and joint battles - when two armies attack each other. To
tell the truth, it was very striking and even a bit frightening.
The costumes were thought out to the smallest detail. The
