The Murals Festival was launched in Dnipro
The festival of murals and monumental paintings
gathered artists in Dnipro. Their canvas are the walls of the
city’s high-rise buildings. For these purposes, they selected
10 tenement houses located in the residential areas of
Dnipro.
According to the organizers, the idea of such a festival
was conceived last year, so it took them a lot of time to
prepare everything. The main goal was to decorate the
city with beautiful drawings, make it more interesting and
lively. The organizers asked the masters to exclude political
motives from the pictures. The artists started working even
before the official beginning of the official. One of the
first pictures will depict a bird. Its author, Illiaa Kudynenko
chose it as a reminder to the residents and guests of Dnipro
that nature needs to be preserved. The bird depicted by
the author is the black-winged stilt. The bird is included
in the Red Book of Ukraine and is protected by other
international documents. The author of this mural is an
architect from Sloviansk, so he was also concerned about
how his work will fit into the overall urban landscape. It will
take Illia about 300 cans of paint and from 10 to 14 days to
make this picture.
In general, the festival will be held for a month. For
these purposes, 900 thousand UAH were allocated from
the budget of Dnipro. The funds of patrons have also been
attracted. A large fest will be completed by painting a
half-kilometer wall. Anyone willing to join this process will
get such an opportunity.
