Ukrainian extreme lovers traveling:
cycling to Singapore and South America
It took Odesa traveler Ruslan Veryn half a year to ride
a bike from Odesa to exotic Singapore. To get there, he
covered almost 15 thousand kilometers and crossed 13
countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Pakistan, Myanmar,
India, Malaysia, Thailand and others.
On the way, the cyclist talked about Ukraine, gave
people Ukrainian flags, asked the locals to help him with
accommodation, and they treated him with unusual
national dishes. He hid from the rain and cold in temples,
and missed the Ukrainian winter during the period of
forty-degree heat in Nepal. He saw amazing monuments
of architecture and poor neighborhoods, watched
folk festivals and holidays. But the most interesting was
communicating with people. In the majority of countries
Ruslan was met with a benevolent attitude. Sometimes the
journey was difficult, but not frightening. In Singapore, the
traveler was welcomed by the Ukrainian diaspora on the
city embankment. He returned to Odesa on an airplane.
Meanwhile, Zaporizhia traveler and writer Volodymyr
Suprunenko is preparing for a trip to the Central and South
America. He is going to visit 13 countries on a bicycle.
An expedition is called «Terra America», and it will start
in Mexico. The man is planning to visit Guatemala, El
Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica,
Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, and Argentina.
The traveler wants to see the monuments of ancient
civilizations and learn traditional local crafts.
