ANDRII PAVLIV
Lviv IT Cluster Supervisory Board Chairman, CEO
and co-founder of N-iX, future resident of the park
One of Lviv IT Cluster’s missions is developing
education and human capital in the city. IT companies
will guarantee that the project will be profitable. They
are the park’s first tenants and it is probable that they
will be the only residents. Now the companies involved
in Lviv IT Cluster organize laboratories and establish new
curricula in different universities. It will be much more
convenient when there will be a university as an object,
and on its basis, Lviv IT Cluster could make laboratories,
which will be divided among all Lviv universities with IT
specialties.
The idea of a cluster is not competition but
collaboration, which can be implemented in IT Park
with the help of working with large system clients when
different companies have different specializations.
Therefore, each of them can have projects from a large
client who can be attracted by the scale of the object
and the number of companies that will be its residents.
park
First Vice-Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University
Why are we interested in being part of this project? Any
university should believe in cooperation and collaboration.
It is not just about creating new programs or schools, but
about the style and culture of work itself.
As we learned by working with IT companies and Lviv
IT Cluster, they are guided by the principle that success is
not only «faster, more, and more efficient». It’s also «more
beautiful, nobler, better».
Each university must develop and offer new interesting
programs. However, the center of all innovations should be
its students. That is why we have to ask ourselves «What is
better for our students? What should we do to help them
study better and be more efficient? «
The product of universities is creative people who will
then engage in creative projects. This is not easy. In order
to educate such a person, we need creative environment.
Innovation District IT Park can be such creative environment
thanks to the cooperation of various players playing the
win-win game. But for this we need to ensure that there are
different residents, not only those from IT. It should be an
interdisciplinary environment that brings people together.
IT people should communicate with representatives of
business, law, philosophy, art, ethics and many other fields.
We are starting to talk about a creative economy.
We do not want to follow this global trend, but to lead it.
We are interested in making projects that have not yet
been made in Ukraine and, possibly, in the world. I am
sure that this project is a unique example of synergy and
is only the beginning of the creative class and economy,
and those changes that are waiting for us in Lviv. In this
place extraordinary companies and startups will start to
appear, as well as unique Ukrainian products.
