Under the electronic logging device rule,<br />

Those that were using automatic onboard<br />

recording devices prior to Dec. 18, 20<strong>17</strong>,<br />

may continue using AOBRDs through Dec.<br />

16, 2019. Suppliers of ELDs must conform<br />

to technical specifications, certify their ELDs,<br />

and register them with FMCSA.<br />

Fleets already equipped with electronic<br />

logging technology will have until<br />

December 2019 to ensure compliance with<br />

the published specifications.<br />

Many fleets already are seeing the benefits<br />

of ELDs.<br />
