n This family comedy is based on a popular series of books by
James Patterson, better known for his crime thrillers featuring police
psychologist Alex Cross. When young Rafe Khatchadorian (Griffin
Gluck) concludes that the teachers at his new school are worse than
the bullies, he decides to stage an insurrection—he will attempt
to break every rule in the student handbook, thus collecting more
demerits than any student in school history.

n Fifty years ago, during the Vietnam War, Hasbro began marketing an
Army doll for boys: G.I. Joe. Fearing that the word “doll” would impact
sales they coined the term “action figure,” a moniker that has stuck. Max
Steel is a Mattel action figure that has had his own animated show and
now a live-action movie. Teenager Max McGrath and his alien companion,
Steel, combine forces to become a superhero. Together—as Max
Steel—they fight for truth, justice, and the … oh, that’s another guy.
