Alba appoints Bechtel as
EPCM for Line 6

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba),
announced International Bechtel
Co. Ltd. (Bechtel) as the Engineering,
Procurement, and Construction
Management (EPCM) contractor for its
landmark Line 6 Expansion Project.
Alba will be the world’s largest
single-site aluminium smelter upon
completion of the Line 6 Expansion
Project, which will boost its production
accumulation and growth-though
important-are the second step. The SME
Sector is the strong backbone of any
economy and to strengthen this backbone
from at its core is the declared objective of
C&S International.

C&S International's vision of supporting
the SME sector in Bahrain which is
a dynamic and important part of the
economy. We hope to make significant

by 540,000 metric tonnes per annum
(mtpa) bringing Alba ‘s total production
capacity to 1,500,000 mtpa. Line 6
will have 424 pots that will use the
proprietary EGA DX+ Ultra technology
thus significantly increasing operating
efficiencies.

delivering the Line 6 Expansion Project,
which is a significant milestone for the
Kingdom of Bahrain. Alba and Bechtel

Bechtel’s President for Mining
and Metals, Shaun Kenny said, “Our
shared values of safety and quality, high
expectations and pride in achievement
have underpinned project success since
our first engagement with Alba over
25 years ago, to our most recent, the
completion of Line 5 in 2005. We are
proud to be working with Alba again
to add Line 6, to make Alba the largest
single site smelter in the world and

for Bahrain, Alba and Bechtel.”

As of January 2014, the United States
Bureau of Labor Statistics calculates that
14.4 million people fit its definition of
self-employed. The Freelancers Union,
which adopts a more generous definition

Bahrain Cinema
Company Opens BD 2 million
Cineplex in Riffa
Bahrain Cinema Company opened a
new 6 screen Cineplex in Wadi Al Sail
Mall in Riffa.
The new Cineplex has substantially
increased the total investment of Cineco
in the Kingdom of Bahrain by BD 2 million
and is part of the company’s extensive
expansion plans.
The new Cineplex has a total capacity
of 724 seats, including 89 VIP seats,
encompassing the latest in technological
advancements in the global entertainment
industry. Whereas, the new Rendezvous
restaurant, will be able to accommodate
up to 138 guests and will offer a premium
continental cuisine buffet spread perfectly
suited for families after a shopping spree.
