Talkeetna & Denali Back Country Explorer | 4 Days<br />
Keep an eye out for wildlife<br />
ANCHORAGE | TALKEETNA | DENALI | ANCHORAGE/SEWARD<br />
Day 1: Anchorage - Talkeetna<br />
Depart early on the Denali Star Train by Goldstar<br />
Railcar to Talkeetna, best known as base camp for<br />
climbers attempting Mount McKinley and for the<br />
stunning views of this famous mountain. Take a stroll<br />
down the main street for river views, local brews and<br />
great eats.<br />
Day 2: Talkeetna - Denali National Park Entrance<br />
(Rail)<br />
This morning take the Denali Star, the Alaska<br />
Railroad’s flagship train, in the Goldstar Railcar to<br />
Denali National Park. The afternoon is open for<br />
optional activities such as white water rafting down<br />
the Nenana River, helicopter flightseeing over the<br />
park, land on a glacier, or hiking.<br />

Superior – Grande Denali Lodge<br />
Day 3: Denali National Park Backcountry Adventure<br />
During your journey to Denali Backcountry Lodge,<br />
your experienced driver-guide will help in the<br />
search for bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and<br />
other wildlife. There are numerous stops for wildlife<br />
viewing, photography and to stretch your legs and<br />
enjoy complimentary snacks. Lunch is included at<br />
the Denali Backcountry Lodge where you can take a<br />
nature walk or try panning for gold. You will return<br />
to the park entrance via a flightseeing tour in a small<br />
bush plane.<br />
Day 4: Denali – Anchorage or Whittier or Seward<br />
Cruise Terminal<br />
Early this morning depart Denali aboard a coach<br />
and travel on the Parks Highway through Alaska’s<br />
spectacular scenery and historic towns. After a stop<br />
in Anchorage continue on to Seward or Whittier<br />
along scenic Cook Inlet and Turnagain Arm. Arrive<br />
Whittier at 4:45pm or Seward cruise dock at 5:45pm.<br />

Day 1: Anchorage<br />
On arrival in Anchorage make your way to your<br />
hotel. Hotel for two nights:<br />
Day 2: Redoubt Bay Bear Viewing<br />
A half day guided tour by floatplane to view Alaska’s<br />
black and brown bears in their natural habitat from a<br />
covered pontoon boat.<br />
Day 3: Anchorage - Girdwood & Glacier Dog Sled<br />
Helicopter Tour<br />
By coach to the glacier-filled Chugach Mountains for<br />
a helicopter ride, a glacier landing & dog sledding on<br />
snow before a transfer to Alyeska Resort.<br />
Day 4: Girdwood - Seward<br />
Leave late morning by coach, visiting the Alaska<br />
Wildlife Conservation Centre en-route to Seward.<br />
Hotel for two nights.<br />
Day 5: Northwestern Fjord Cruise<br />
Travel farther into Kenai Fjords National Park than<br />
any other cruise and visit the Northwestern Fjord.<br />
Day 6: Seward - Talkeetna<br />
Travel north today through Anchorage to Talkeetna.<br />
Day 7: Talkeetna - Denali National Park<br />
This morning take the Denali Star, the Alaska<br />
Railroad’s flagship train, in the Goldstar Railcar to<br />
Denali National Park. The afternoon is open for<br />

Day 8: Denali National Park Tour - Fairbanks<br />
Early this morning embark on the Tundra Wilderness<br />
Tour of Denali National Park, wildlife sightings<br />
are common, so keep your camera handy. This<br />
afternoon board the Denali Star Train in the Goldstar<br />
Railcar to Fairbanks, where you trip ends.<br />
