Days 1 & 2: Okanagan Valley
Head from Vancouver to the lush countryside
of the Okanagan Valley; this beautiful valley
midway between Vancouver and Alberta is rich
in its produce, primarily fruit. The 180km-long
Okanagan Valley is home to orchards of peaches
and apricots, and scores of excellent wineries whose
vines spread across the terraced hills, soaking up
some of Canada’s sunniest weather. The valley has
provided a summertime escape for generations of
Canadians, who frolic in the string of lakes linking
the Okanagan’s towns.
Day 3: Okanagan - Revelstoke
Visit Salmon Arm, the gateway from the Okanagan
in the heart of the Shuswap Lake recreation area.
You’ll have panoramic views of Shuswap Lake, rolling
farmland, forested highlands and mountains. There
is so much to do here: birdwatching, golf, cycling or
hiking.
Day 4-6: Revelstoke - Lake Louise
Enjoy the best the Rockies have to offer in the Banff
National Park. Each year, millions of visitors come
to Banff to marvel at the emerald waters of Lake
Louise, walk amongst the flower-filled heavens at
Sunshine Meadows and see the sweeping vistas,
glistening glaciers and snow-capped peaks. The
area became Canada’s first national park in 1885 to
protect its natural hot springs. Lake Louise is the
Jewel in the Rockies’ crown; you’ll understand why.
Banff is its alpine playground.
Day 7-9: Lake Louise - Jasper
Travel north along the famed Icefields Parkway
through a rugged wilderness flanked by dramatic
mountain ranges, stop at the Athabasca Glacier
where you can ride out onto the glacier aboard
an Ice Explorer, then enjoy the beauty of Jasper
National Park.
Day 10 & 11: Jasper - Clearwater
Experience the scenic beauty of the Wells Gray
Provincial Park as you head back through the
mountains. Imagine a place free of crowds with
plenty of mountains, forests, rivers and lakes to
explore. Helmcken Falls, Canada’s fourth highest
waterfall, is just one of 39 waterfalls you’ll find here.
Each spring the Murtle and Clearwater Rivers roar
into life and wildlife sightings are common - so keep
an eye out.
Day 12 & 13: Clearwater - Vancouver
Return to the coast and the cosmopolitan city
of Vancouver. Vancouver is a young, friendly city
with countless natural charms in close proximity,
voted the world’s third most liveable city and most
liveable in Canada. Perhaps you’ll go shopping on
chic Robson Street or explore the funky Granville
Island with its market and artists enclave; visit the
city’s vast array of museums; walk or cycle around
the 1000-acre Stanley Park or visit quaint and
atmospheric Gastown. Discover the surrounding
peaks of the Coastal Mountains or go whale
watching on the Pacific Ocean. Dining is a delight
and a dilemma in Vancouver, there’s so many
restaurants and cuisines to choose from.
Day 14: Vancouver - Departure
