Special Considerations<br />
• Does not involve public discipline<br />
• Participation is voluntary, cannot be ordered into the program<br />
• Participants are responsible for program expenses, not paid for by the Board<br />
• <strong>INA</strong>P does not release participants name, confidential program<br />
Who is Eligible for <strong>INA</strong>P<br />
• Any LPN, RN, or nurse practitioner that has a physical, mental or substance use concern<br />
• Diagnosed impairment and or treatment recommendation<br />
• Approval of <strong>INA</strong>P committee (eligibility to participate in the program is at the sole<br />
discretion of the <strong>INA</strong>PC)<br />
Who is Not Eligible for <strong>INA</strong>P<br />
• Diverted drugs for distribution to third parties or for personal profit<br />
• Adulterated, misbranded, or otherwise tampered with drugs intended for a patient<br />
• Provided inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent information or failed to fully cooperate<br />
with the <strong>INA</strong>PC<br />
• Participated in the program, or similar programs offered by other states, without success<br />
• Failed to sign contract when recommended by <strong>INA</strong>PC<br />
How the <strong>INA</strong>P Process Looks<br />
Requirements of <strong>INA</strong>P<br />
• Work-site monitor<br />
• Chemical screening<br />
• Recovery program monitor (treatment provider, aftercare, counselor)<br />
• Three year monitoring contract (legally binding)<br />
Does <strong>INA</strong>P Involve Discipline?<br />
• No discipline or Enforcement as long as in compliance with contract<br />
• Non compliance can result in referral for discipline<br />
• Non compliance can result in referral to Board<br />
• Prior to <strong>INA</strong>P, only option for nurse was discipline<br />
