The challenge will commence on the first day of the show, Friday October 20 at 2pm, and end at about the same time the following day. Like any international, this is a clash not to miss. These countries are considered to be the top two at tentpegging in the world at the moment. It is also a great clash of styles, with Oman known for their flair and speed and the South Africans for their skill and uniformity. Whatever the result, this competition with horse, speed and weapons is bound to keep you enter tained. The main attraction on the Friday evening will be a live performance by the well-known Lianie May who will perform at 8.30pm. “Guardians of Furry Friends” will run a play area for kiddies with a jumping castle, puppet show, face-painting, games and lots more. There will also be a potjiekos competition and old “Lion’s Den” style dance on the Friday. These events are all aimed at raising funds to help abused and neglected animals in our area, so support for this worthy cause is well worthwhile. The show committee is also proud to be hosting the first Eastern Cape provincial Arabian horse championships. These beautiful horses can be seen in the ring from 9am on the Friday. In true community style, local talent will have the chance to wow audiences at the talent competition which will take off at noon on the S at u r d ay. Other attractions at the festival include the Klaas Smits bar, the Presbyterian steakhouse, South African Police Service exhibits, a fun fair, a 5D motion cinema, a tattoo parlour, an old time photo booth, paintball games, mechanical bull rides, mini train rides and vintage tractor and engine club exhibits. DJ Luke M to spin the decks at showgrounds MUSIC lovers are in for a treat tomorrow night when Luke Mains, better known as “Luke M” per forms at the showgrounds. Luke is a producer/DJ who started living his passion at the age of 13. He attended Boston College where he completed a diploma in digital music and audio engineering. He later also completed a Soul Candi course and then entered a producing competition which he won with R15 000 worth of studio equipment as the prize.
