"I have worked within the
tertiary education sector
for over 20 years and
have had a long-standing
history with Keane's clay
through a number of TAFE
ceramics departments. I
have found their products
consistent and reliable for
The coarse texture and high
plasticity of White Raku
makes it a friendly clay to use,
accommodating a wide variety of
hand-forming applications. The
sand/grog used to provide texture
has softened edges, which make
the throwing process pleasant.
Due to its fine day base, White
Raku responds well to bumishing.
Unique in its quality and
consistency, this is one of our most
popular days.
students. from the making through to the firing. I use Keane's White
Raku clay because it allows me flexibility in the making process as I
am able to throw and hand build with it. With my new body of work I
apply a porcelain slip to the leather hard or dry clay body and find that
it accommodates it very well. As I force dry my work with a burner or
heat gun. it is also very important that I use a dependable clay that
will not respond adversely to this process. It's the best! ..
