Altiplano 900 P
FOR HER
The Piaget Altiplano 900P is the world’s thinnest mechanical watch. It measures in at a slim 3.65mm when fully cased.
To reduce the thickness, the inner caseback serves as the mainplate of the movement. The 900P, although it first
debuted in 2013, wouldn’t have been possible without the invention of the revolutionary Calibre 9P in 1957 that
served as the bedrock for Piaget’s pursuit of ultra-thin watchmaking records.
This year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of that storied calibre, Piaget has debuted an all-new Altiplano 900P
(ref G0A42110). The 38mm case of this anniversary edition timepiece is made from 18k rose gold. The screws
which are visible on the dial match the colour of the case while the white alligator-skin strap lifts this horological
hero into the realm of elegant dress-watches. The star of the show though is obviously the mechanical winding
movement which has 145 components and boasts a power reserve of 48hours. It’s limited to just 200 pieces. Turn one
on its side, and it disappears.
