THE BLUE PLANET<br />
Saturday 12th May 12.30 pm at the Church West Halls.<br />
This year the theme is hoping to encourage local awareness to<br />
environmental issues. We need to be thinking about how we can teach<br />
and learn about recycling, litter, avoiding waste of any kind and looking<br />
after our environment for ourselves and the wildlife in our areas.<br />
We will have many of our usual stalls, although we are not having a book<br />
stall, soft goods or jewellery stall they are going to be replaced with<br />
a nearly new clothes stall for under fives. Another new stall will be a Home<br />
Produce ,preserves in glass jars etc., and Church Stall for information on<br />
Church activities and organizations.<br />
Three will be a performance area in front of the Carrick Centre where you<br />
will be entertained by local artistes.<br />
One of the most important parts of the Carnival is the parade and we<br />
would like to see more groups becoming part of this. This is a fantastic<br />
way of encouraging people to get involved in the community, get whatever<br />
organization you are in dressed up and join in this once a year event. This<br />
is an opportunity to show how you can help save the planet.<br />
We are always looking for volunteers, home baking, home produce and<br />
your support. Next months issue will give contact numbers for<br />
uplifting goods.<br />

The Old Library Centre<br />
There are busy times ahead at the Old Library Centre with events so get<br />
your diaries out and make note of the following dates.<br />
FLORAL ART DEMONSTRATION by Dawn Stevenson<br />
Tuesday 27th <strong>March</strong> - 10am to 12noon<br />
Tickets for this will be £3.50 which includes the cost of tea/coffee and a<br />
biscuit at the interval. There will be a raffle for the displays created at the<br />
end. Dawn is kindly donating her time to raise funds for the centre so do<br />
come along and support this.<br />
AULD HATS NEW HEIDS CONCERT<br />
Saturday 7th April<br />
They played a very entertaining gig last year to a sell out audience. Tickets<br />
are £12 each, phone, email or come into the centre to book your tickets.<br />
PSYCHIC SALLY BUXTON<br />
Thursday 26th April at 8pm<br />
The ever popular psychic joins us for an interesting evening. People will<br />
know that this sells out quickly and we usually have a waiting list for<br />
tickets. Tickets will be £10 each.<br />
JIMMY LIVINGSTON in CONCERT<br />
Friday 11th May<br />
Tickets £12 each. Jimmy last played here in October 2014 and was very<br />
warmly received.<br />

INTERMEDIATE YOGA<br />
Classes take place at the Old Library Centre on Monday nights from<br />
7.30pm – 9pm. It is for those with a regular practice who wish to challenge<br />
themselves. Arm balances, headstands, handstands, lots of fun poses –<br />

The Kilbarchan Singers are holding a coffee morning on<br />
Saturday 10th <strong>March</strong> from 10am - 12noon. It is being held<br />
in Kilbarchan Parish Church Hall, Steeple Square, Kilbarchan.<br />
Entry is £2.50 which includes coffee/tea & cakes. And have<br />

To mark the 50th anniversary of the revival of Lilias Day we are going all out to<br />
make this a year to remember.<br />
We have a fantastic line up of entertainment and as always we need your<br />
involvement. You can help us by:<br />
• Getting in touch with us if you were a previous Miss Lilias.<br />
• Joining the parade - costume fitting on Sunday 11th <strong>March</strong>, 3pm - 5pm<br />
(change to previously advertised time), Old Library Centre, Kilbarchan.<br />
• Taking a stall - booking night on Tuesday 13th <strong>March</strong>, 7pm - 9pm, Old Library<br />
Centre.<br />
• Decorating your house - 50th anniversary themes welcome!<br />
• Having a float - this a fantastic way for local organisations to be centre stage<br />
for the day.<br />
• Buying a raffle ticket (or 10!) for your chance to win £1,000 on the day.<br />
• Volunteering to help us on the day. Lilias Day is a really big event that requires<br />
lots of manpower to make sure it runs smoothly. If you could spare a couple of<br />
hours to help on the gates or steward the parade, please get in touch.<br />

On Friday 2nd <strong>March</strong> there will be a Fairtrade Curry Night in<br />
Bobbins, starting at 7pm. Last minute tickets may still be<br />
available at Bobbins.<br />
On Sunday 11th <strong>March</strong>, from noon until 1pm there will be a<br />
Fairtrade stall in Kilbarchan Parish Church hall, to which all<br />
are welcome.<br />
At its February meeting the group met a request from Kilbarchan Primary School<br />
Fairtrade Committee for funding to enable it to stock its Fairtrade stall.<br />
