TAXIFY
Taxify is the newest ride hailing
app in Australia. It all began
in Estonia in 2013 by Markus
Villig. Taxify came to Sydney in
December 2017 and is now in
Melbourne offering introductory
rides at 50% discount.
Taxify has a commission rate of
15% on all fares which is 10% less
than Uber’s and therefore give
the drivers more money in their
pocket at the end of the day.
It also claims that their fares are
around 5% cheaper than Uber.
However, the company does
employ surge pricing, but says it
will be capped at 1.5% and it won’t
be introduced until mid-2018.
OLA
Next is Ola. Ola started in India
in 2011. It now has operations in
over 110 cities with 125+ million
users.

and CEO of Ola said, “We are
very excited about launching Ola
in Australia and see immense
potential for the ride-sharing
ecosystem with embraces new
technology and innovation”.
Ola is wishing to launch in
Melbourne, Sydney and Perth but
hasn’t received approval from
any Australian states’ regulatory
bodies, at this stage.
It is known that in India Ola takes
25% commission, but it has been
rumoured that they will offer an
introductory rate of just 7.5%.

And we must remember, Shebah
- ride sharing services run by
women, driven by women, for only
women and children passengers.

McEnroe was worried because her
eldest daughter and her friends
did not feel safe in either taxis or
ride-share cars. They were walking
home from parties because they
didn’t want to get into a stranger’s
car.
As she tells it, she was hauling
wet clothes out of the washing
machine when she thought,
“I wish there was a femaleonly
rideshare service.” At the
same time, she thought, “I wish
someone else would hang out the
washing.”
But George has never waited for
“someone else” to do something.
So she hung out the washing. And
then she trudged back inside and
started what is now Australia’s
leading ride sharing service for
women.
Shebah can currently be booked
in Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney,
Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine
Coast and Perth.
SLYYK
Crown Cabs has created and is
launching SLYYK - an on-demand
app designed to improve the
image of the taxi cab Industry - in
April 2018.
Passengers and Taxi Drivers can
easily sign up to SLYYK’s premium
transport service app. When
passengers book a taxi with
SLYYK the price is immediately
calculated. Available drivers are
shown on the app’s screen and
you can choose the driver you
want.
Passengers and drivers can leave
reviews on each other.
With SLYYK, it is more than just
getting from point A to point B. It’s
about being safe and secure with
a simple app in a taxi.
