The Center for Workforce <strong>In</strong>novation at the<br />
Florissant Valley campus will:<br />
• Serve over 500 students annually through<br />
the expansion of existing instruction and<br />
launch of new programs.<br />
• Enhance instruction through effectively<br />
planned spaces that create synergy between<br />
programs.<br />
• Establish cutting-edge new programs<br />
in aerospace composites and green<br />
technologies.<br />
• Assist dislocated workers by offering<br />
accelerated training programs.<br />
Facility<br />
The 32,000-square-foot building will house 10<br />
instructional labs: six Aerospace technology,<br />
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC),<br />
<strong>In</strong>dustrial Maintenance Training (IMT), Green<br />
Technologies/Sustainable Construction and<br />
<strong>In</strong>formation Technology. The facility will<br />
also include three all-purpose classrooms,<br />
conference room, student lounge and a public<br />
Cyber Café.<br />

The center will also<br />
be the instructional<br />
facility for the<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Louis</strong> Aerospace<br />
<strong>In</strong>stitute. The center<br />
will house six aerospace instructional labs:<br />
metal structures, electrical/mechanical,<br />
composites fabrication, composites assembly,<br />
skills refresher and a large shared equipment<br />
area. The center will offer aerospace tec hnology<br />
courses in: aerospace fundamentals, metal<br />
structures; electrical assembly and installation;<br />
mechanical assembly and installation;<br />
composites fabrication and composites<br />
assembly.<br />
