What happens when two
egotistical giants of the entertainment world get trapped
in a place they’d rather not be? Added to this the fact that
they have always despised each other and… boom!
Al Jolson and Frank Sinatra; both brilliant in their own
right but equally as self-centred. Ain’t No Angels tells the
story of Jolson and Sinatra stuck together in purgatory,
waiting to discover whether they get to go ‘up’ or ‘down’.
The show takes a look back over the pair’s lifetimes,
providing new and informative insights into the lives of
two musical heavyweights all woven together by their
timeless classics, supported by an awesome live swing
band. Ain’t No Angels, is a refreshingly slick piece of
theatre that is sure to leave audiences in awe.

WHAT: Consequences of War
WHERE: Lichfield Cathedral
WHEN: Until June 24
A poignant, moving and revealing free exhibition
which draws attention to the effect of World War One,
Consequences of War will explore the immediate
aftermath of the conflict and the quest and failure of
the search for peace over the subsequent century.
The exhibition combines reflections of conflict from
a local and national perspective and involves the
work of some of Britain’s most significant post-war
artists, which will question our notions of peace and
war. Artists whose work will be on display include
Henry Moore, Paul Nash, Graham Sutherland and
Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. Other exhibits will include
original work by the Cathedral’s Artist in Residence
Peter Walker, items from the Staffordshire Regiment
Museum, Military Valour awards and trench art. For
