Le train de
l’électrification
verte pour tous
est en marche,
en avant toute !
Il est loin le temps de l’initiative d’électrification solaire
des villages isolés en brousse, qui a mis en avant le
savoir-faire des grands-mères malgaches.
Depuis 2012, cette initiative, promue par WWF à
Madagascar, a pris de l’ampleur et s’est transformée en
un programme national du gouvernement malgache.
Récemment un groupe de femmes qui a terminé
une formation en électrification solaire au centre de
formation Barefoot College en Inde est revenue au
pays il y a quelques jours. L’une d’elles, Tsiampoizy,
a directement conduit un atelier de réparation
d’installations solaires dans son village de Ranomay,
au sud-ouest de Madagascar. Et trois autres femmes,
issues du même village, sont parties se former en Inde
à la fin du mois de mars 2018.
D’autre part, le village d’Andranomilolo, au nord de
Madagascar, vient de recevoir ses équipements solaires
et les grands-mères vont à présent les installer. En
complément, un lieu de formation en énergie solaire
pour des femmes rurales vulnérables entre dans sa
phase de construction au centre du pays. Il ouvrira ses
portes début 2019.

is chugging
along, full steam
ahead!
It has been a long time coming for our initiative of
solar electrification in isolated, rural villages, which
have called into action the savoir-faire of Malagasy
grandmothers.
Since 2012, this initiative, promoted by WWF in
Madagascar, has grown in breadth and transformed
into a national program for the Malagasy government.
Recently, a group of women who had finished
training in solar electrification through Barefoot
College in India returned to Madagascar. One of them,
Tsiampoizy, went directly to a repair shop for solar
installations in her village of Ranomay, in the southwest
of Madagascar. Three other women from the same
village also left to train in India at the end of March
2018.
Elsewhere, the village of Andranomilolo, in
the north of Madagascar, recently received solar
equipment, and the grandmothers are now beginning
to install it. At the same time, a solar energy training
center for vulnerable, rural women is under
construction in the center of the country and will open
its doors beginning in 2019.
