WOO 3.0 Vs. PIQ NORTH
4 - DOWNLOAD & SESSION ANALYSIS
Both sensors have a great App for sessions
download and analysis. The App
is available for Android 4.4.4 or higher
and for iOS 8 or higher. With the WOO
can be done also on the Web.
The firmware update is automatic on
both devices, that means that you
won't need to do anything, but just
accept the update through the App.
Essential condition for best recording
is to have always the latest firmware,
therefore accept whenever asked, paying
attention though to first download
any sessions left in the sensor's memory,
because could get erased after
the update. The Bluetooth connection
to the smartphone is immediate and
easy for both sensors.
The outcoming data are multiple and
quite similar, but the PIQ shows additional
data than the WOO such as
rotation quantity, heights averages,
classification of the jumps into preset
categories and more that you can
discover by using them.
The PIQ data display interface is more
convincing due to a tidier display, and
to the latest feature of data arrangement
via smartphone App.
Basically, once you enter the single
session card, you can arrange the
data by height (ascending or descending),
hangtime, G landing, with just a
simple tap.
With the WOO, this feature is only partial
for heights and only for iOS, not for
Android therefore, the data statically
shows on the smartphone and must
be manually extracted, being impossible
to create any interactive report
unless with Mac and the WOOvie editor
Software with which we can add
the results of our jumps to our videos.
This feature is currently not available
for the PIQ.
Furthermore, the PIQ has the "Piqscore"
charts that show the values for Hangtime,
Height, Landing, on a scale 0
(minimum value) to 3333 (maximum
value) that compare the individual
sessions, and the last 6, but if you like
also the previous ones, with professional
riders.
Essentially it adds up the single values
obtained for Hangtime, Height,
Landing and compares them with the
pros' ones, giving a result of comparison
to understand how far or close you
are from the best ones.
Non-essential feature but useful to
quickly check your progress over time.
The same thing with the WOO must
be done manually by evaluating the
results of the pros in the Community
with more toilsome calculations.
The possible values for each session
are numerous, the height of course,
but also air time, Hang Time on single
jumps and whole session, landing
Strength expressed in G, number of
jumps, session time, etc.
What's really nice for both sensors, it's
the possibility to have the result for
the single spot and then expanding to
the nation, continent, world...
An example...today I jump in Tenerife
