Some people are born with a passion<br />
that paves the path of a lifelong career.<br />
For Wido Arts, his love of the<br />
waterways surrounding his homeland<br />
led him to nautical school in Amsterdam<br />
at the tender age of 15. By the time he<br />
was 20, he was first officer on the MPS<br />
Lady Anne, and within two years he<br />
became the captain. Being young and<br />
ambitious, he decided to branch out<br />
and go in search of other possibilities<br />
on the water, and landed a job with a<br />
Swiss company. He then returned to<br />
the owner of the Lady Anne to work<br />
on a different ship, until 2002 when<br />
he was offered ownership of the Lady<br />
Anne – an opportunity that he snapped<br />
up at just 30 years of age. To this day,<br />
Wido spends year after year aboard his<br />
beloved ship, indulging in his passion<br />
and sharing it with thousands of guests<br />
– he even met his wife, Jana, onboard,<br />
and they now have baby Captain Damon.<br />
