Day 1: UK – Berlin (Rail)<br />
We travel by rail to Berlin, the capital of Germany,<br />
and check in at our overnight hotel.<br />
Day 2: Berlin (Air)<br />
We have free time this morning to explore Berlin<br />
before we board the ship moored by the famous<br />
Lake Tegel and spend a relaxing evening on board.<br />
Passengers travelling by air join today.<br />
Day 3: Berlin – Eberswalde<br />
Start the day with our optional city tour, which is led<br />
by a qualified and experienced guide. It’s a wonderful<br />
opportunity to see the highlights of Berlin and hear<br />
about the rich history and culture of the area. We<br />
return to the ship in Oranienburg and then sail to<br />
Eberswalde where we spend the evening.<br />
Day 4: Eberswalde – Schwedt<br />
Enjoy a full day cruising to Schwedt; en route we<br />
will come to the monumental Niederfinow Boat<br />
Lift which is the oldest working lift in Germany and<br />
bridges the 36 metre difference between the canal<br />
and the Oder River. Fol<strong>low</strong>ing the unique experience<br />
of passage aboard the boat lift we will continue our<br />
cruise along the Oder to Schwedt. It’s a great day to<br />
spend on the sun deck watching the scenery glide by.<br />
Day 5: Schwedt – Szczecin<br />
Today we will cruise toward Poland to Szczecin, a<br />
lively city and the capital of West Pomerania near<br />
the Baltic Sea. Join our optional tour to visit of this<br />
former German city, set on both sides of the river<br />
banks, which we can explore.<br />
Day 6: Szczecin – Wolgast<br />
Relax on deck and admire the passing scenery as we<br />
spend a full day cruising across the Szczecin Lagoon<br />
to Wolgast on the banks of the river Peenestrom. On<br />
arrival we have free time to explore this historic town<br />
or join our optional city tour.<br />
Day 7: Wolgast – Peenemünde – Lauterbach<br />
We cruise the short distance to Peenemünde, a small<br />
village on the Isle of Usedom, one of Germany’s<br />
most popular holiday <strong>res</strong>orts due to its stunning<br />
natural beauty. We have some free time or you can<br />
join our excursion to Peenemünde museum formally<br />
the largest armaments centre in Europe, where up<br />
to 12,000 people worked on guided weapons before<br />
we return to the ship for lunch. Later we set sail<br />
to Lauterbach on the isle of Rügen. On arrival you<br />
can join an optional tour of Rügen visiting Putbus,<br />
Binz and Prora. Binz is the largest seaside <strong>res</strong>ort on<br />
the island, it is known for its sandy beaches and the<br />
Strandpromenade, an elegant seaside walkway. Next<br />
is Prora north of the town are the ruins, originally<br />
built by the Nazis as a vast <strong>res</strong>ort. Our final place<br />
is Prora and its museum, which is a record of its<br />
complex of history.<br />
Day 8: Lauterbach – Stralsund<br />
We cruise this morning to Stralsund arriving at<br />
lunchtime. The historical centre is a delight to<br />
explore, with imposing churches, gothic gabled<br />
houses and the beautiful town hall with its distinctive<br />
facades. To make sure you don’t miss anything, why<br />
not join our optional walking tour.<br />
Day 9: Stralsund – Düsseldorf (Rail) / Berlin –<br />
UK (Air)<br />
After breakfast passengers travelling by air will<br />
be transferred to Berlin airport for the return<br />
flight. Passengers travelling by rail take the train to<br />
Düsseldorf for an overnight stay.<br />
Day 10: Düsseldorf – Cologne – UK (Rail)<br />
We are taken by coach to Cologne and retrace the<br />
route to Brussels for the return Eurostar connection<br />
to London.<br />
