Mega burger

TASK
Draw and colour a picture of a hamburger.
Materials
✓✓ cartridge paper
✓✓ lead pencils
✓✓ erasers
✓✓ black permanent markers
LESSON 1
1. Brainstorm to list the different types
of ingredients that can be found in a
hamburger.
2. With the cartridge paper in portrait
position, the students draw the top
and bottom bun pieces at each end of
the page.
3. In the space between the bun pieces,
draw the filling for the hamburger—
lettuce, tomato, beef patties, cheese,
egg etc.
4. Trace over the drawing using black
permanent marker.

Lesson 2
1. The students use oil pastels to colour
the hamburger. Encourage them to mix
lighter and darker colours together
to create a more realistic effect. For
example, light and dark brown can be
blended together to create the illusion
of shape and form for the bun.
2. When all sections have been coloured,
the hamburger can be cut out and
glued onto coloured card.
