Hungry fish DURATION Three lessons TASK Draw, pattern and paint a deep-sea fish. Materials ✓✓ images of deep-sea fish, such as the deep sea angler fish, from books or the internet ✓✓ large sheet of cartridge paper ✓✓ lead pencils ✓✓ erasers ✓✓ black permanent markers LESSON 1 1. Look at images of deep-sea fish and discuss their features. 2. The students draw their own version of a deep-sea fish, including the features discussed. 3. The students draw lines to break up areas of the fish’s body into segments. In each segment, draw a variety of patterns. 4. Trace over the completed design using black permanent marker. Evaluation ✓✓ ✓✓ ✓✓ ✓✓ ✓✓ ✓✓ edicol dye brushes water and containers glue scissors black card Lesson 2 Use various colours of edicol dye to paint the patterns on the sections of the fish.
