Another prolific year for DELTA MARINE
Designated as the most reputable
and reliable Turkish ship design
house, Delta Marine have achieved
to obtain very successful results in
efforts on developing ship design
concepts and software products, as
well as improving the engineering
processes in terms of quality and
innovation.
The year of 2018 started with
very promising advances as
the company received from
Class NK, the ISO 9001:2015
Quality Management System
Certification which is the most
modern and updated QMS. After
having the official proof of its highquality
services and products, the
company has also been certified by
Turkey’s Ministry of Defense with
National and NATO Facility
Security Clearance. On the
other hand, Delta Marine’s project
team developing detail design for
Turkish Navy’s TLHD project
received the “Team of the Year”
award by Teknopark Istanbul
R&D Center.
Delta Marine’s ongoing projects
in merchant and naval areas,
are thriving into success stories
one-by-one. The launching of
Lily PG, 7000 DWT St. St. Oil/
Chemical Tanker designed by
Delta Marine and built by RMK
Marine on behalf PGT from UK
has been successfully done in
April 2018. Another joyful news
came in May 2018 from Besiktas
Shipyard who launched Delta
Marine’s design sister vessels
Mia Desgagnés, the World’s first
dual-fuel polar-class chemical
tanker and then her sister Rossi
A. Desgagnés both built on behalf
of Canadian Groupe Desgagnés.
In July 2018, the delivery of
Victoria of Wight, Wightlink’s
new environmentally friendly,
hybrid battery powered,
1200 Pax ferry designed for
the Fishbourne to Portsmouth
voyages, has been one of the
numerous accomplishments.
In naval industry branch, laying
of hull blocks in February 2018
and completion of 100% of
hull blocks in June 2018, for
TCG ANADOLU, Turkish
Navy’s Landing Helicopter
Dock (TLHD) project in Sedef
Shipyard, has been important
milestones. Delta Marine’s
intensive efforts in detail design
have started turn into reality in this
largest naval ship project ever done
in Turkey. Another success story
is developing in Turkey’s largest
naval ship technology transfer
project in a single item, PNS
Moawin, where Delta Marine
provided basic and detail design
services under the agreement
made with the main contractor
STM. This Navy Fleet Tanker
Celebrating its 22 nd year in maritime
sector as a fully independent company,
Delta Marine continues to write success
stories in design, engineering and
consultancy services.
under construction in Karachi
Shipyard, Pakistan, has shown
a very satisfactory performance
in the first part of the sea trials
executed in Arabic Sea. The sea
trials shall continue and every
successful result obtained in each
test marks another milestone of
pride for defense cooperation
between Pakistan and Turkey.
Delta Marine is also very active
in software development and
focuses on ship design and ship
operations. In that sense, Delta
Marine’s new ship loading
software, DeltaLoad[+] has been
released and received the General
Approval for Type 3 functionality
from Lloyd’s Register as of
January 2018. Compatible with
modern hardware and software
technologies, DeltaLoad[+] offers
various enhanced and new features
which will make ship officer’s and/
or ship management staff’s lives
much easier in organizing ship’s
cargo by checking instantly the
vessel’s technical availabilities.
On the other hand, Delta Marine
has been awarded by Turkish
Lloyd with the contract to develop
a new rule software aiming to
improve plan approval capabilities
and performance. This application
will be ready for the use by 2019.
Delta Marine had been using its
in-house developed ship design
software platform NavEng which
offers very good and effective
features to create new concept
designs fast and accurately.
