Another prolific year for DELTA MARINE<br />

Designated as the most reputable<br />

and reliable Turkish ship design<br />

house, Delta Marine have achieved<br />

to obtain very successful results in<br />

efforts on developing ship design<br />

concepts and software products, as<br />

well as improving the engineering<br />

processes in terms of quality and<br />

innovation.<br />

The year of <strong>2018</strong> started with<br />

very promising advances as<br />

the company received from<br />

Class NK, the ISO 9001:2015<br />

Quality Management System<br />

Certification which is the most<br />

modern and updated QMS. After<br />

having the official proof of its highquality<br />

services and products, the<br />

company has also been certified by<br />

Turkey’s Ministry of Defense with<br />

National and NATO Facility<br />

Security Clearance. On the<br />

other hand, Delta Marine’s project<br />

team developing detail design for<br />

Turkish Navy’s TLHD project<br />

received the “Team of the Year”<br />

award by Teknopark Istanbul<br />

R&D Center.<br />

Delta Marine’s ongoing projects<br />

in merchant and naval areas,<br />

are thriving into success stories<br />

one-by-one. The launching of<br />

Lily PG, 7000 DWT St. St. Oil/<br />

Chemical Tanker designed by<br />

Delta Marine and built by RMK<br />

Marine on behalf PGT from UK<br />

has been successfully done in<br />

April <strong>2018</strong>. Another joyful news<br />

came in May <strong>2018</strong> from Besiktas<br />

Shipyard who launched Delta<br />

Marine’s design sister vessels<br />

Mia Desgagnés, the World’s first<br />

dual-fuel polar-class chemical<br />

tanker and then her sister Rossi<br />

A. Desgagnés both built on behalf<br />

of Canadian Groupe Desgagnés.<br />

In July <strong>2018</strong>, the delivery of<br />

Victoria of Wight, Wightlink’s<br />

new environmentally friendly,<br />

hybrid battery powered,<br />

1200 Pax ferry designed for<br />

the Fishbourne to Portsmouth<br />

voyages, has been one of the<br />

numerous accomplishments.<br />

In naval industry branch, laying<br />

of hull blocks in February <strong>2018</strong><br />

and completion of 100% of<br />

hull blocks in June <strong>2018</strong>, for<br />

TCG ANADOLU, Turkish<br />

Navy’s Landing Helicopter<br />

Dock (TLHD) project in Sedef<br />

Shipyard, has been important<br />

milestones. Delta Marine’s<br />

intensive efforts in detail design<br />

have started turn into reality in this<br />

largest naval ship project ever done<br />

in Turkey. Another success story<br />

is developing in Turkey’s largest<br />

naval ship technology transfer<br />

project in a single item, PNS<br />

Moawin, where Delta Marine<br />

provided basic and detail design<br />

services under the agreement<br />

made with the main contractor<br />

STM. This Navy Fleet Tanker<br />

Celebrating its 22 nd year in maritime<br />

sector as a fully independent company,<br />

Delta Marine continues to write success<br />

stories in design, engineering and<br />

consultancy services.<br />

Shipyard, Pakistan, has shown<br />

a very satisfactory performance<br />

in the first part of the sea trials<br />

executed in Arabic Sea. The sea<br />

trials shall continue and every<br />

successful result obtained in each<br />

test marks another milestone of<br />

pride for defense cooperation<br />

between Pakistan and Turkey.<br />

Delta Marine is also very active<br />

in software development and<br />

focuses on ship design and ship<br />

operations. In that sense, Delta<br />

Marine’s new ship loading<br />

software, DeltaLoad[+] has been<br />

released and received the General<br />

Approval for Type 3 functionality<br />

from Lloyd’s Register as of<br />

January <strong>2018</strong>. Compatible with<br />

modern hardware and software<br />

technologies, DeltaLoad[+] offers<br />

various enhanced and new features<br />

which will make ship officer’s and/<br />

or ship management staff’s lives<br />

much easier in organizing ship’s<br />

cargo by checking instantly the<br />

vessel’s technical availabilities.<br />

On the other hand, Delta Marine<br />

has been awarded by Turkish<br />

Lloyd with the contract to develop<br />

a new rule software aiming to<br />

improve plan approval capabilities<br />

and performance. This application<br />

will be ready for the use by 2019.<br />

Delta Marine had been using its<br />

in-house developed ship design<br />

software platform NavEng which<br />

offers very good and effective<br />

features to create new concept<br />

designs fast and accurately.<br />

Delta Marine also carries the title<br />

of “academia” for young engineers<br />

and technicians; and is preferred<br />

as a favorite solution partner at<br />

worldwide level as a result of<br />

the continuous improvement<br />

philosophy standing on close<br />

interest for developments in<br />

professional and computer<br />
