Uzmar exports to more than 22 countries
in 6 continents

Noyan Altuğ stated that after the
pilotage services they provided
at Çanakkale Akçansa Port, they
launched the first private Pilotage
Station at Aliağa Nemrut Bay.

told the story of Uzmar to Viramaritime.
“The story of UZMAR started with the
establishment of the first private pilotage
and tugboat company of Turkey by Sea
Captain Altay Altuğ (Maritime College,
1952) in 1973, which provided service
to private ports on the Aegean Shores”.
more than 12,000 maneuvers

Uzmar’ Board Member Noyan
Altuğ. “Uzmar obtained its license
for “Response to Emergencies
of Contamination of Marine
Environment with Oil and Other
Harmful Substances” in 2010 and
is ready 7/24 to respond to any
pollution caused by the substances
at Aliağa Nemrut Bay Region with
its trained and expert personnel
and advanced equipment and
fleet. Uzmar participates in fire
extinguishing operations with its
competent tugboats and crew at
the coastal facilities and vessels
and successfully performs ship
rescue and flotation operations.
“Uzmar started to build its
own tugboats in 1996 in Tuzla
Shipyards Region for the purpose
of expanding its fleet and is now
using the modern designs of the
world’s leading shipbuilding
engineering firm, Canadian
Robert Allan Ltd. The vessels we
build with progressive engineering
principles at the highest standards
are exported to more than 22
countries on 6 continents today”.
Altuğ also told us about the Uzmar
Shipyard:
“It was built by the state-of-theart

Kocaeli Free Zone in 2005 and

with the SEM (ERP) system and
named it “Uzmar Workboat and
Tugboat Plant”.
The shipyard has an indoor area of
19.000m 2 and a pier with a length
of 170 m. It is based on a land
of 60.000 m 2 and is one of the
most competent shipyards of the
country with its floating dock with
a capacity of 5000 tons. In addition
to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001 certificates, it has
the NATO Security Certificate and
the Facility Security Clearance
issued by the Ministry of National
Defense”.
Altuğ said that with the progressive
engineering principle, they have
achieved perfect customized
applications in a timely manner.
“Thanks to the development of
the online construction process of
Uzmar, we use the high technology
infrastructure, production time
and work power in the most
efficient way and offer a lifetime
technical support service, allowing
its customers to follow up the
construction process online from
anywhere on the world”.
