Handover ceremony at the Ministry of
Transport and Infrastructure

In his speech in the handover
ceremony in the Ministry,
new Minister of Transport and
Infrastructure, Cahit Turhan
explained the Ministry’s big
projects to facilitate the lives
of citizens and to make them
accessible and reachable during
their daily lives, travels and
communications.
Turhan stated that the projects
started by the former Prime
Minister, Binali Yıldırım,
during his term as the Minister
of Transport, Maritime and
Communications, and the works
carried under the leadership of
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,
are praiseworthy: “I have also
served for 30 years in the General
Directorate of Highways under
this ministry. I have returned home
after 2 years of separation. We will
continue to provide better services
for our country with our Ministry
of Transport family.”
Turhan emphasized that, in the
words of President Erdoğan,
“this job is a labor of passion,
enthusiasm and love”, and they
will create the foundation for the
services in every field to prepare
the country for the goals of
2023, 2053, and 2071 set by the
President.

over office from
former Minister
of Transport,
Maritime and
Communications,
Ahmet Arslan.
“We will work with love and
enthusiasm to reach the goals
set by President Erdoğan and to
realize bigger projects faster for the
people with a new understanding.
“We will strive to carry this flag
given to them to its purpose, its
destination, and wished for better
and more beneficial services for
the nation and the country.”
The Ministry of Transport
family raised the flag
higher.
Arslan also stated that they have
carried out many projects for 16
years during the terms of AKP
Party governments regarding the
accessibility and transportation of
the country, they will continue to
do so, and this is a fact known
by both the citizens and the
international carriers that benefit
from the transportation and
accessibility of the country.
Arslan emphasized that the
investments made by the ministry
in 16 years total 474 billion:
“When taking over the office from
Prime Minister Binali Erdoğan
25.5 months ago, we had said that
we will raise this flag higher by
working day and night with our
teammates. We did raise the flag
higher as the Ministry of Transport
family of 240,000.”
He gave information about the
works performed during his term
as minister, and said that the new
Istanbul Airport will be officially
opened in October 29, the field
works for Kanal Istanbul project
have reached the final phase, the
drills were completed, the route
was determined, the EIA process
was initiated, and they will be able
to give a start this year regarding
the financing method.
After the speeches, Cahit Turhan
took over the office of Minister
of Transport and Infrastructure
from Mr. Arslan.

The package aims to reduce
current account deficit and
encourage production of high
value-added outputs, Mustafa
Varank said in a statement.
The industrialists will benefit
from the package through the
Technology and Innovation
Grant Programmes Directorate
TEYDEB 2.0, a new support
system of the Scientific and
Technological Research Council
of Turkey (TUBITAK).
“We will provide 1.2 billion liras
(approx. $183 million) in three
years for projects that will be
implemented through TEYDEB’s
project announced this year,”
Varank said.
