Obituaries<br />

LYNNFIELD — Robert Martin, a long<br />

time resident of Lynnfi eld, was entered<br />

into rest on September 22, 2018. He<br />

was the son of the late Jean Buchan<br />

Martin and Albert Martin. He was the<br />

beloved husband of Barbara Kidder<br />

Martin, his wife of 56 years. Together<br />

they have two wonderful sons: Glenn<br />

Martin lives in Lynnfi eld with his wife<br />

Sue, and Paul Martin from Londonderry<br />

New Hampshire with his wife Kim.<br />

Bob adored his fi ve grandchildren,<br />

including Chad and Tyler Martin from<br />

Lynnfi eld, and Allison, Zachary, and Benjamin Martin<br />

all from Londonderry New Hampshire. He also<br />

leaves a loved sister and brother-in-law from Lynnfi<br />

eld, Eleanor and Larry Canter, and their children<br />

and grandchildren. Bob was an engineering graduate<br />

of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also<br />

earned an MBA from Boston University, and a law<br />

degree from Suffolk University. He worked as a senior<br />

executive for the federal government where he<br />

had a distinguished career and made a distinctive<br />

and substantial contribution to the general welfare<br />

of his country. He was a member of the Lynnfi eld<br />

PEABODY — Mrs. Paula A. (Doherty)<br />

Rowley, age 80, of Peabody, died at<br />

North Shore Medical Center, Union<br />

Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018,<br />

following a lengthy illness. She was the<br />

beloved wife of William F. Rowley Jr.,<br />

with whom she shared more than 60<br />

years of marriage.<br />

Born in Lynn in 1938, Paula was<br />

the daughter of the late Charles and<br />

Catherine (Callahan) Doherty. She was<br />

raised and educated in Lynn and graduated<br />

from St. Mary’s Girls High School<br />

in 1955.<br />

Paula worked as a telephone operator for AT&T<br />

for many years and has lived in Peabody with her<br />

husband Bill for the past 30 years. She enjoyed gardening,<br />

doing crossword puzzles and watching cooking<br />

shows on television. Cruises, summer vacations<br />

at York Beach in Maine and trips to Foxwoods were<br />

some of the places she loved to visit. Paula also<br />

enjoyed getting together annually with her former<br />

coworkers from AT&T for dinner. Spending time with<br />

her grandchildren was her greatest joy. She helped<br />

take care of them when they were younger and was<br />

always there to cheer them on at their many sporting<br />

events and school activities.<br />

school committee, a long time well<br />

loved scout leader of Troop 49 in<br />

Lynnfi eld, and led his two sons and<br />

many others to excel and become Eagle<br />

Scouts and contributing citizens. Bob<br />

was an outdoorsman, loved his Patriots<br />

seasons tickets, enjoyed travel and golf,<br />

and was particularly interested in the art<br />

form of post and beam construction, to<br />

the extent that he designed a barn that<br />

he was helping to build during his retirement.<br />

He treasured his many friends who<br />

returned his love and respect.<br />

Service information: A funeral service was<br />

held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at 10 a.m.<br />

in Stanetsky Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10<br />

Vinnin St., Salem.<br />

Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery,<br />

Lynnfield. Visitation following the service will<br />

be at the home of Glenn and Sue Martin. For<br />

Lavelly and her husband James of<br />

Amesbury; and her many nieces, nephews,<br />

cousins and close friends. She was<br />

predeceased by a grandson, a brother and a sister.<br />

Service information: A funeral service will be<br />

held on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the<br />

SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route<br />

129), Lynn. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery,<br />

Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully<br />

invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on<br />

Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Donations in Paula’s<br />

Timothy Frances Eagan<br />

Jr., 88, passed<br />

away from complications<br />

related to<br />

a fall and ongoing<br />

progressive Dementia.<br />

Born on June 19,<br />

1931 and raised<br />

in Lynn, he attended<br />

school at St.<br />

Mary’s of Lynn and<br />

at the age of 16, enlisted in the<br />

Marines (1947-1949) and then<br />

re-enlisted in the Navy (1951-<br />

1955). Served on the aircraft<br />

carrier Valley Forge and the<br />

Attack Squadron VA-105. He<br />

served his country honorably,<br />

achieving the rank of Petty Offi -<br />

cer 2nd class USN1.<br />

Married Gloria Boyd, also from<br />

Lynn, and raised three children,<br />

Michael, Cheryl and David in<br />

Lynnfi eld. Retired with his wife<br />

Gloria in Stuart, Fla. There was<br />

no better salesman than Tim<br />

Eagan, who had a successful<br />

career representing companies<br />

like National Semiconductor,<br />

Dynamics Research Corporation;<br />

but his biggest thrill was<br />

starting a rewarding Manufactures<br />

Rep Company,<br />

Eagan Associates.<br />

Tim was larger<br />

than life, gregarious,<br />

hilarious, life of the<br />

party. His greatest<br />

love aside from<br />

family and friends<br />

was his love of sailing.<br />

Some of his<br />

fondest memories<br />

were sailing with<br />

friend Bill Monroe.<br />

Survived by his loving family,<br />

wife Gloria; sons Michael and<br />

wife Jane, grandsons Mike Jr.<br />

and wife Micaela, Billy and wife<br />

Kara, and granddaughter Meredith,<br />

son David and wife Kara,<br />

granddaughter Sophia; and<br />

daughter Cheryl and husband<br />

Nick Mericic, grandsons Dustin,<br />

Christopher, and Johnathan.<br />

Special thanks to the staff at<br />

Salerno Bay Rehab Center in<br />

Stuart, Fla. for their loving care<br />

and kindness to our Dad in his<br />

fi nal days.<br />
