34 A VIEW FROM THE BOOK NOOK Chris Fraser The Book Nook — “A Lending Library” We are open Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm * * * * I hope you are enjoying the Fall colours, but now have time to sit down with a good book. This book I read is called “Look for Me” by Lisa Gardner. A family in Boston are suddenly all murdered in their own home; however, the teenage daughter, Roxanna, is nowhere to be found. Witnesses saw her walking her two dogs prior to the shooting, so did she luckily escape the carnage or is she somehow responsible. Another survivor of an abduction, Flora Dane, has formed a survivor’s group online and is hoping she will hear from the missing teenager. Flora has begun helping to find victims and eventually talks to Detective D.D. Warren, who at first does not want to talk to a girl with obvious problems. However, she realizes that Flora can talk to people that the detective cannot, if they are afraid of talking to the police. Flora enlists the help of another survivor, Sarah, and together they try to find Roxanna. Flora believes she is hiding somewhere because she is afraid and does not believe she could have killed her entire family. Detective Warren finds out about the family’s troubled past, and what Roxanna and her sister Lola went through while in foster care, which may be a motive for Roxanna to kill her family. Flora, however, believes Roxanna is in real danger and convinces Detective Warren that she is innocent and they need to find her before she, too, is harmed. There are many different people who could have murdered this family for revenge, so Detective Warren and Flora team up to find the killer, but first they must find Roxanna. This is a book you cannot put down. There are so many clues uncovered and suspects in this murder, you will want to find out who the killer really is. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
