Liberty Safe and Security Products, Inc.,
may have modest roots, but there is nothing
modest about the largest gun, fire, and home
safe manufacturer in the world. And certainly
nothing is modest about its two million
satisfied customers.
What began in 1988 with a couple of business
partners producing five or six gun safes
a day from three storage sheds, the security
business has grown into an expansive enterprise
with a 300,000 square foot production
and distribution facility in Payson, Utah, that
employs 350 workers who produce between
350 and 750 safes daily.
From the beginning the owners have used
the latest state-of-the-art procedures and
recruited highly skilled and trained employees
who are comfortable and capable in a
high tech world. Equally important, however,
is that Liberty Safe is an American company,
and the overwhelming majority of its parts
and services come from the United States.
(The company recently invested in a $10
million high end production line to bring
all of their entry-level safes back to the U.S.)
Twenty-five years ago, people typically
kept their guns in wood cabinets that usually
of UTAH
featured a glass door with a simple lock that
would only deter a toddler. Liberty saw the
need for security with built-in measures
against fire, theft and the danger of easy gun
access. The company launched with the idea
of promoting a high-quality safe to store and
keep guns. Hunters and shooters remain a
core audience—but the business quickly
expanded to help all homeowners protect
what they value most.
Liberty Safes are designed for multiple
purposes in a variety of styles, colors and
finishes; plus options, such as a monitoring
device that detects motion and sends you
a text message, Biometric finger swipe
technology, interior lighting and accessory
door panels.
At one end are small two-foot high and
two-foot wide home and office safes to hold
valuable documents and other treasures. At
the other are large capacity safes that can
hold up to seventy-two guns. In reality, there
are as many uses as there are owners who
want their valuables more secure, whether
it is a valuable painting, camera equipment,
computer hard drives, ammunition, baseball
cards, laptop computers, jewelry, sentimental
memorabilia or even gold and silver
bullion stored as a hedge against
the dollar.
Designed especially to guard
against fire and theft, Liberty Safe
and Security is built on three prongs:

that reinforces these objectives.
One of their safes, for example,
survived San Diego wild fires and
2,000 degree temperatures. Another
flew 200 feet during an F4 tornado
in Tennessee and landed upright and
intact. In both instances the owners’

company’s lifetime guarantee.
There is nothing like a real life
situation to show the value of a
steel-cased safe, but Liberty Safe also
tests products aggressively on site.
