Showjumping -
Ammanvalley Santino (WPCS; Cruglwyd
Sant x unknown) & Hannah Barker
(GBR). Members of the Gold Medal
winning GB show jumping team and
6th in both the Individual Jumping
Championships and the Team rounds.
Welsh part-bred Ammanvalley Santino
was bred by Chris Richardson at
Ammanvalley Stud in South Wales and is
by the black Welsh Section D Cruglwyd
Sant and out of an unregistered leopard
spotted mare called Chino who is
thought to be by the Appaloosa stallion
Ready Money. Santino also won Team
Gold at the 2015 Pony Euros, ridden by
Jessica Hewitt.
Eventing -
Movie Star II (SHB(GB); Primmore’s
Pioneer x Warlock of Bellhouse) &
Connie Gill (GBR). This 10 year old
mare was bred by Heidi Wilton-Baker
and, competing for GB as individuals,
she & Connie achieved a clear round
cross country within the time and a
clear round in the final showjumping
phase to finish in 8th place.
Eventing -
Morelands Affair (AES; Billy Mexico
x Kiltealy Spring) & Camilla Luciani
(ITA). Bred by the Morelands Stud,
10 year old Morelands Affair started
her eventing career in the UK, then
competed for Ireland before moving to
Italy. They first competed as individuals
at the Pony Euros in 2017 before
being selected for the 2018 Italian
Team where they were placed 10th
Individually, finishing on their dressage
score.
Dressage -
George Clooney B.S (KWPN; Caesar
171 x Santano) & Sophie Taylor. Bred
in Yorkshire by Julie Lockey (Bramley
Stud) by the British-based Elite sports
pony Caesar 171 out of British-bred
Ballarena F.H. (Santano x Democrat),
7 year old George Clooney was the
highest placed GB Team pony in both
the Team Test (12th) and the Individual
(20th) then the only GB pony to qualify
for the Kur in which they placed 14th.
This is a great achievement for such a
young pony who only did his first FEI
international 5 month earlier.
Dressage -
RFS Socrates (Weser-Ems; Sarkozy x
Rudgeway Charming Prince) & Leah
Murphy (IRL). Bred by Jo Wright
(Rufford Stud) and out of the Welsh
part-bred mare Sannanvalley Valencia
(Rudgeway Charming Prince x Valiant),
Socrates and Leah were members of
the Irish Dressage Team. They were also
members of the Irish team at the 2017
Pony Euros when Socrates was
just 7 years old and he was the
youngest pony cross all disciplines.
Dressage -
Thorneyside Kestrel (WPCS;
Thorneyside The Gladiator x
Thorneyside Flyer). Tara Hayes
(IRL). Bred by P. J. Gray & Sons in
Cambridgeshire, this 12 year old Welsh
Section D had only previously competed
in 2 FEI international competitions,
making him the least experienced of
the Irish team ponies.
Dressage -
Coednewydd Pepsi (WPCS; Coednewydd
Express x Coednewydd) & Aurelia Von
Mauberg (POL). Another British-bred
Welsh Section D, who was bred by Mr
D I Evans and is 8 years old, he and
Aurelia did their first FEI International
in April then won both the Team and
Individual Tests at the Sopot CDIP in
June to earn their place on the Polish
Team
In addition, there were two ponies
competing in the jumping by the
British-bred WelshSection D Machno
Carwyn (Carregcoch Bleddyn x Tylan
Danny), who was bred by Meirion
Jones in North Wales and is himself a
double Pony Euros Individual Jumping
Champion.

Makuba 21 (Machno Carwyn x Losander)
& Oliwia Platek (POL)
