NEWS - BRITISH BRED HORSES IN COMPETITION<br />
Lizziemary was representing Israel and ridden by Danielle<br />
Goldstein. The combination have been so consistent on the<br />
Global Champions Tour circuit and it was no surprise to see<br />
them jump well in Tyron. The mare was bred by Michael<br />
Dawson in Yorkshire and was previously produced by Billy<br />
Twomey where their success included a King George V Gold<br />
Cup at the Royal International. Her sire Cabri D’Elle was on<br />
2001 European Championship team and competed at the 2002<br />
World Equestrian Games. As well as competing on 35 Nations<br />
Cup Teams between 1998 and 2005 he also won some of the<br />
biggest Grand Prix competitions throughout Europe.<br />
Lizziemary’s dam Amanda Lear, was very talented in her<br />
own right. She competed internationally herself, including<br />
jumping in the World Cup at Olympia at the age of 9. She<br />
also produced Jahil (by Jalisco) who was placed in the <strong>British</strong><br />
Speed Derby with Robert Whitaker and had good placings at<br />
CSI*** level and Sorceress (also by Cabri D’Elle) who competed<br />
internationally for the Czech Republic.<br />
The highest placed <strong>British</strong> bred horse was Blue Movie, ridden<br />
by Berkshire based Australian Rowan Willis, the combination<br />
finishing 12th individually. Like Lizziemary, Blue Movie comes<br />
from a top motherline, being a daughter of Nick Skelton’s<br />
former top ride Showtime and was bred by Sue Welch.<br />
The dam Showtime won numerous Grand Prix and was on<br />
winning Nations Cup teams. Besides Blue Movie she has also<br />
produced 1.40m horse Arkade (by Arko) and Shark (also by<br />
Arko) who Rowan is competing at 1.50m internationally.<br />
Showtime is by that great Westfalen sire Pilot, who not only<br />
directly produced some fantastic international jumpers, and<br />
was the youngest millionaire sire in Germany, but has also<br />
become a great broodmare sire.<br />
Blue Movie’s sire Chacco-Blue was the most represented<br />
sire across all the show jumpers with 8 offspring in the final<br />
entries. A successful Grand Prix horse himself in Germany,<br />
Chacco-Blue has excelled as a sire passing on his technique<br />
and good attitude and this resulted in his rise to WBFSH World<br />
Number 1 in 2017. One of the most eye catching this year has<br />
been Ben Maher’s GCT ride Explosion W. - Sacha Shaw<br />
Carl Hester and Hawtins Delicato.<br />
