The final day of the first week saw the tour move on to Tall
Trees Arena in Cornwall where a good number of eventing
stock in particular came forward for assessment.
The highest scoring eventer was Wellpark Sport Horses’
Wellpark Don Giovanni. This colt foal is a son of West
Country sire Hallmark DS who is now competing at Novice
Eventing. Hallmark combines the bloodlines of Cavalier Royale
(grandsire) out of a Thoroughbred motherline. Don Giovanni’s
dam is an Irish bred daughter of Grand Prix dressage stallion
Silvano. The judges described him as well balanced and
harmonious and praised the ground cover in his canter.
Wellpark Sport Horses were also responsible for the 2nd
highest eventing score, which was for Wellpark Leporello, a
colt foal by Ninth House.
DBM Furstin-Love (Fursten-Look x Damon Hill)
The highest score of the day and the overall series 2yo show
jumping champion was Masterclass with an Elite score of
9. Owned and bred by Keith Lovelock, this colt has some
classical bloodlines, being by For Pleasure out of a Balou
Du Rouet mare. The dam Westpoint Bijou, is now eventing.
The motherline is one of Westpoint stud’s foundation lines,
hailing from the Danish mare Rastello who produced a number
of good offspring to their resident sire Fulton including
CSI*** competitor Westpoint Ferdinand. The well muscled
and developed colt presented a very pleasing picture to the
assessors and scored a 9.5 for his frame and a 9.25 for both
his elevated trot and balanced canter.
The second highest show jumping score went to Christina
Hood’s colt foal Kinabalu SFS by the young Kannan son Karajan
who was awarded a 9 for his big striding walk.
In the dressage division it was the filly foal DBM Furstin-Love
bred by Kristina Floyd-Walker who was awarded a Higher First
and the section’s top score. She impressed with her wonderful
frame and ground covering walk. The filly is a daughter of the
2018 Young Horse World Championships Bronze medal winner
Fursten-look out of a mare by International Grand Prix star
Damon Hill x Weltmeyer.
