Les Chutes De la Lily
Cette cascade d’eau est située à deux heures de marche d'
Ampefy. La deuxième chute, 30 minutes de marche plus
loin, est encore plus spectaculaire. Pour la petite histoire,
cette cascade tire son nom du récit suivant : un colon qui
habitait sur les lieux y a perdu sa fille Lily dans la chute, alors
que cette dernière jouait au bord de la rivière. Mais le temps
à passé et les abords sont aujourd'hui sécurisés ! Admirez
les paysages harmonieux d’Ampefy et découvrez tous les
atouts touristiques de l’Itasy : son fameux lac, ses cours
d’eau, ses belles montagnes et bien sûr, régalez-vous de

Andrianambo
Cachée dans les plaines de Mahabo,
entourée par les collines de Babay et
Lohovohatra, cette chute d’eau puise sa
source à Andringitra. C’est un lieu sacré
et empreint d’histoire. Il paraît même
qu’un Zanahary (dieu) y demeure. Des
indices, comme la présence d’arbres
royaux - l'aviavy (figuier)ou encore
le voanonoka- et de l'ancien palais
royal transformé aujourd'hui en église,
montrent que les dieux ne furent pas
les seuls à y élire domicile.
Une cascade entourée de merveilleux
paysages où la quiétude vous attend.
Prenez la RN4 qui conduit vers
Mahajanga, après une vingtaine de
kilomètres, vous arrivez à Mahitsy.
Comptez ensuite une dizaine de
kilomètres de route secondaire en
passant par Anjomoka pour arriver à
Andrianambo. n
The Waterfalls of la Lily
This waterfall is about a two hour walk from Ampefy. Even
more spectacular is the second fall, a 30 minute walk
further along. For the story, the waterfall was named after
the following anecdote: a little girl, daughter of a settler,
was playing on the banks of the river when she fell in. But
time has passed and the banks of the river have now been
made safe. You will be enchanted by the gentle landscape of
Ampefy and you can enjoy all the tourist attractions of Itasy:
its famous lake, its rivers and its stunning mountains. You
can also delight in the region’s freshwater fish. So, ready for

Nestling at the heart of the Mahabo
plains, surrounded by the hills of Babay
and Lohovohatra, the source of this
particular waterfall is in Andringitra.
It is a sacred spot, steeped in history
and it is even said to be inhabited by a
Zanahary (god). There are elements –
the aviavy (fig tree) or the voanonoka
(ficus), as well as the former royal palace
that is now used as a church – that
indicate that it was not inhabited by
gods alone.
It is a waterfall surrounded by the
most beautiful scenery, where visitors
find peace and solitude.
Take the RN4 main road in the
direction of Mahajanga. After a 20km
drive you will reach Mahitsy. Then
continue along the minor road for 10km
or so, going through Anjomoka before
arriving at Andrianambo.
