Quand y aller? / When to go?
330 jours de soleil par an, c’est un atout pour
visiter Salary même si les meilleurs mois de
l’année restent la période comprise entre mars et
novembre. Le soleil et de faibles précipitations
sont au rendez-vous à cette période.
One of the advantages of Salary is that the region
enjoys 330 days of sunshine per year, although
the best period to visit is between March and
November, when there is plenty of sun and low
rainfall.
Comment s’y rendre? / How to get there?
En partant de Tuléar, le circuit menant à Salary
peut s’effectuer en 4x4 (comptez plus de 3h).
Vous suivrez un trajet qui longe le Canal de
Mozambique, ce qui vous permettra en même
temps d’admirer un merveilleux lagon, des
paysages semi-désertiques et des petits villages
des pêcheurs Vezo (Firenemasay – Tsiandamba
– Tsifota et enfin Salary).
From Tuléar, you can drive to Salary in a 4x4:
the trip takes over three hours. Follow the road
that runs along the Mozambique Channel, giving
you spectacular views over the beautiful lagoon,
semi-desert landscapes and the little Vezo fishing
villages of Firenemasay, Tsiandamba and Tsifota,
until you finally reach Salary.
Où se loger? / Where to stay?
Salary Bay est un hôtel de charme, sur une plage
de sable blanc de 5 kilomètres. Quelques petits
hôtels sont installés dans les villages de Salary
Sud comme TAKALIRO où à Salary Nord, Chez Vivi.
Salary Bay is a boutique hotel situated on a 5km
sandy beach. There are a few small hotels, such
as the Takaliro in the village of Salary Sud, or
Chez Vivi in Salary Nord.
Où manger? / Where to eat?
Ici on adapte le menu en fonction de la pêche
du matin. Une habitude qui assure une fraîcheur
incomparable aux produits servis dans l’assiette.
Poissons, langoustes ,cigales de mer ,crabes,
poulpes, calamars…
Here the menu will depend on the morning's
catch: the products used to prepare your meals
are guaranteed to be fresh: fish, lobster, crab,
octopus and squid.
Que voir? / What to see?
Le lagon de Salary Bay renferme de nombreuses
richesses. Il a pour particularité d’être seulement
fréquenté par les pirogues des pêcheurs Vezos,
et de présenter un récif corallien unique en
son genre composé de trois barrières de corail
successives où une multitude de poissons
multicolores viendront manger dans vos mains.
The lagoon of Salary Bay is teaming with life. Its
specific characteristic is that the only boats are
those of the Vezo fishermen, but also the fact
that it has a unique coral structure consisting of
three successive reefs, where hundreds of multicoloured
fish will come and eat out of your hand.
