UniNet announces Nordic Swan certification
The company has revealed it has been officially certified by Nordic Swan, and launched a range of new products,
including newly approved toner formulations.
UniNet says the company has “stepped up
its commitment to environmental and
sustainability issues” with the achievement
of the European LGA Certification [tested
for toxins and contaminants] and has

Color toner, components and replacement
cartridges for use the Ricoh Aficio MPC

According to UniNet, this certification
greatly benefits the company’s European
market by providing pre-qualified toner for
use in cartridges tested to Nordic Swan
requirements. Nordic Swan approval allows
distributors to provide Eco Labeled toner
cartridges, which UniNet says will boost
customers’ confidence in the safety and
quality of these toner products.

The Ricoh Aficio MPC 406 is a
multifunction colour laser printer rated at
42ppm, with printing, copying and
scanning capabilities, and featuring a
600x600 dpi resolution, whilst the Kyocera
ECOSYS M 5521 is a compact and
multifunction colour laser printer rated at
22 ppm for both colour and monochrome,

They are not the only new products
recently unveiled by UniNet, with the
company also releasing toner, components,
scanning capabilities, and featuring a
1200x1200 dpi resolution. According to
UniNet, both printers were designed to
“satisfy the printing needs of small and
home office printing environments.”
The Absolute Color toner for use in
the above machines is described as a
“high-quality formula, offering superior
consistency and vibrant quality colours,”
with UniNet explaining that it offers “a
complete product solution to serve the

New imageCLASS MFPs from Canon
The OEM has expanded its imageCLASS portfolio with two new models aimed at small businesses.
Canon USA has announced the launch
of the new imageCLASS D1650 and
D1620 compact, black-and-white,
multifunction printers. Designed for
small-to-medium sized workgroups in
environments ranging from law firms to
purchasing departments to accounting
firms, the new imageCLASS models claim
to balance “speedy performance, minimal
maintenance, and the ability to expand
paper capacity to help give power users
an edge.”
“Businesses aim to boost productivity
by streamlining workflow operations so
they can focus their time and energy on
their core business and spark strategic
innovation,” says Shinichi Yoshida,
executive vice president and general
manager, Canon USA. “The new
imageCLASS models contribute to
Canon’s continued dedication to providing
trusted, workflow-essential solutions with
features designed to fit workgroup needs.”
The imageCLASS D1650 and D1620
models offer out-of-thebox,
standard, two-sided
printing and scanning.
Both models feature a
five-inch touchscreen,
designed to deliver “an
intuitive and customisable
user experience that will
ultimately help to simplify
daily tasks.” A legal-sized
platen glass accommodates diverse size
scanning and copying needs. The models
also support certain mobile solutions for
those employees printing and scanning on
the fly, as well as the ability to scan and
convert documents to searchable digital
files through a single-pass, duplex
document feeder.
With security becoming a growing
concern among employers, the new
imageCLASS models also help to protect
confidential data. With the D1600
models, designated administrators can
set security settings, control device
needs of MPS providers and remanufacturers”

The black toner cartridge boasts a 2,600
page yield, while the CMY cartridges offer
2,200 pages at an average of 5 percent page
coverage.
UniNet says, “These cartridges offer MPS
providers and remanufacturers a greater
value product to improve their profits,
because they are considered easy to
remanufacture cartridges; just needs to
refill toner and add the smart chip.”
Finally, UniNet has introduced Absolute
MICR Toner for use in the Okidata B
730/720 monochrome printer series.
UniNet says it offers premium quality
Absolute MICR toner (Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition) for use in the
Okidata B 730/720, “exclusively formulated
for printing checks, and featuring superior
image quality and unmatched adhesion.”
According to UniNet, this MICR Toner
formulation guarantees “unparalleled”
performance, meets banking industry
check clearing systems/standards, and
follows ANSI/ABA specifications.
