community outreach and make
taking bookings easier (supported by
Sam Thurley), the hall relies on the
local community, from support for
the planning phase to attending the
community fundraising events, with
over 1000 people attending the family
friendly fireworks.
DEVELOPING THE HALL
2019/20 will be an exciting time
for Ridgewood Village Hall and an
opportunity to develop the only
community facility in the southern
end of Uckfield. It’s a chance for the
entire community to pull together
to fulfil the potential at Ridgewood
Village Hall.
There are three modernisation plans
in progress, which will be funded
from the community events, support
from local council and businesses,
and external grants. These phases are
A: Refurbish the Village Hall
B: Wild garden and Carpark
C: Extension to the East Side of the
Village Hall
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
30 October is the Ridgewood Village
Hall will be the Annual General
Meeting. All residents are invited to
attend this and new supporters and
volunteers are welcome to join the
committee.
Come along with your family to one of
the wonderful Community events held
at the hall raising funds to support
this fantastic part of Uckfield.
If you have some spare time, the
committee are always looking for
volunteers - this can be an hour of
your time or even several hours a
week, helping at the events or behind
the scenes throughout the year - it all
helps.
Above all, the main message from the
committee is for the local community
to use the hall and enjoy all that is has
to offer.

The current committee consists of
volunteers, all donating time to improve
the hall, raise funds and keep the
Ridgewood residents engaged in a valuable
community asset. Our 2019 Committee is:

The committee is supported by Sam
Thurley of SJT who provided a brand new
website and continues to provide free
support for it and Derek Ranns ,Caretaker
and Health and safety officer at the hall.
