UCKFIELD ANDERIDA CRICKET CLUB
CONTINUE FIGHTING RELEGATION
Despite the continued valiant efforts of
skipper Dave Tungate, who scored another
century in the defeat by Bells Yew Green’s
second team last month, Uckfield Anderida
have continued to struggle at the bottom of
the table, and they go into the final month
of the season needing to string a run of
wins together to give them hope of avoiding
relegation from Division Seven East of the
Sussex Cricket League.
Uckfield’s remaining home games at the
Victoria Ground are against Pett on 10
August and Newhaven on 24 August. In
between, on 17 August, Uckfield face what
could be a pivotal match at neighbours
and fellow strugglers Maresfield. Uckfield
end their league campaign on 31 August
with a daunting visit to title-chasing
Herstmonceux.
MARESFIELD LADIES TENNIS SUCCESS
The Maresfield Ladies Tennis team
enjoyed a highly successful season by
finishing runners-up to Roehampton
in the South East Regional Team
Tennis league, after defeating Queens
Club in their final match of the
season. Maresfield lost only one
game throughout the summer in
which they competed against several
bigger clubs.
Well done to the players for their
excellent achievement: Aziza Aubin,
Kyria Dunford, Emily Gordon,
Elspeth Griffiths, Evelyn Kilsby, Jane
Lavender, and Kate Smith.
