Taking their places for dinner in the industrial-chic hall spaces that used to<br />
house London’s newspaper printing presses, 700 hair, fashion <strong>and</strong> media VIPs<br />
sat at tables dramatically decorated by McQueen (providers of flowers for<br />
Vanity Fair’s Oscars After Party for the past 25 years) to be served a menu<br />
specially created by the chefs at <strong>The</strong> Recipe, London’s most sought-after<br />
caterers. Beef <strong>and</strong> ale pie served with buttery mashed potatoes, roasted<br />
carrots, asparagus <strong>and</strong> shallots was followed by a sumptuous chocolate cake<br />
with kirsch cherries <strong>and</strong> whipped cream – all washed down with lashings of<br />
wine, in endlessly refilled glasses. Darlings, it was simply divine!
