The Economic Value of WTAMU Main Report

<strong>The</strong>se impacts, stemming from spending related to the university and its students,<br />

spread throughout the regional economy and affect individual industry<br />

sectors. Table 2.13 displays the total impact <strong>of</strong> <strong>WTAMU</strong> on industry sectors<br />

based on their two–digit NAICS code. This was determined by mapping the<br />

Alumni Outcomes occupation data to NAICS codes. the table shows the total<br />

impact <strong>of</strong> operations, research, construction, start-up companies, visitors,<br />

students, and alumni, as shown in Table 2.13, broken down by industry sector<br />

using processes outlined earlier in this chapter. By showing the impact on<br />

individual industry sectors, it is possible to see in finer detail where <strong>WTAMU</strong><br />

has the greatest impact. For example, <strong>WTAMU</strong>’s impact for the Administrative<br />

& Waste Services industry sector was 1,207 jobs in FY 2017-18.<br />
