Attention All Veterans!
The Palm Springs American Legion Post 519 Color Guard is proud to participate and
lead the Palm Springs Pride Parade! Sunday, November 3rd, 2019, 10am-12pm.
The Post 519 Color Guard is calling on all veterans and active duty service personnel
to please join us!
We will have several veterans groups and their affiliations marching in the parade and
supporting our color guard. We will also have a truck and trailer, decorated with flags
and banners following the color guard and marchers. Those veterans who cannot walk
the distance of the parade can ride in the truck or trailer. The Pride Parade is expecting
anywhere between 70,000 and 100,000 spectators along the route running North to
South along Palm Canyon Drive. There are over 8,000 people marching in the parade
representing over 280 organizations. As such, the parade organizers run a tight ship
and ask everybody to follow their instructions. We are contingent number 3 (Three).
If you are marching with us, please show up at the start off point at the corner of Palm
Canyon Drive and Tachevah Dr. (a block west of Desert Regional Medical Center). We
want to take a nice group photo before the start of the parade at 10am so please be there
by 930am. The parade will end at Amado Rd. From there, you will have to disembark
and find your own transportation home. We suggest parking on Belardo Rd. near the
American Legion (400 N. Belardo Rd.) and walking to the staging area. Nobody will be
allowed to ride in the back of the truck or trailer once we have left the parade and disembarked
as per PSPD instructions.
