The humble hotdog has been given new life in

Dunedin, where Epicdog (472 George Street) is doing

its darnedest to satisfy all tastes – including vegans.

Whether or not you opt for Epic’s own blend of pork

and beef sausage, their range of ingredients – beef

chilli, grilled kimchi, pineapple salsa, Epic cheese sauce

– will have you drooling.

Just when you thought you had seen everything

Christchurch’s Riverside Market had to offer, the

Giesen brothers decided to make an appearance.

Their Kaiser Brew Garden will be the only working

microbrewery in the heart of the city, with a beautiful

roof terrace garden bar above the market. Offering

Bavarian-inspired hospitality, the well-known wine

producers have brought in master brewer Dicky Fife,

who we hear has developed his Kaiser beers from the

Giesen family’s handwritten family recipe.

Looking to serve something special at your silly season

event? Look to Negroni Special by Curiosity Gin (The

Spirits Workshop, 11 Sandyford Street). Whether

you choose to enjoy it neat with a few ice cubes

(recommended) or with equal parts Campari and sweet

vermouth for that traditional negroni cocktail, you’ll soon

Wine and Spirits Competition. This is one drop you’ll want

to take with you into 2020.

Peregrine picked up a trifecta of awards for its Peregrine Pinot

bottle of Villa Maria Cellar Selection Syrah Hawke’s Bay 2018.
