Changes are afoot! WineNZ Magazine is now under new ownership and as experienced publishers we are looking to make some changes to ensure the magazine not only retains the high standards it has maintained over the past 23 years but breaks new ground in its coverage of the New Zealand wine scene. We have retained our experienced team of wine commentators, but we will also be employing the services of new voices to ensure that new ground is covered, as well as reintroducing contributors from earlier times. The magazine will retain its main focus on wine and the enjoyment of wine both here and overseas. Colin Gestro Editor & Publisher When i bought Brookfields Vineyards, the most planted white variety in Hawke’s Bay was Müller-Thurgau. it wasn't my preferred choice; hence, i planted pinot gris, which was sourced from the Mission Vineyards. only after the Millennium did pinot gris sales explode nationally — and the good news is they are still growing.
