TheGREENCORNERLymington2020 Vision:20 months tomake a lasting differenceIn April 2018 Kate, a long- standing member of Transition Lymington dreamt up the concept ofLymington 2020 Vision. In each of the 20 months leading up to the year 2020 the group collated atick list of ideas, links and local ways in which to make Lymington a more sustainable place. Eachmonth the list was published on line to distribute the ideas across the area.Now, having reached the end of our 20 months, our 20 tick lists are a treasure trove of creativechallenges that can be used now and in the future to make a difference locally, nationally andinternationally.Our final list of suggestions could help with your New Year’s Resolutions. However, take a look atour Facebook site for the full set.In the writing and completing of the Lymington 2020 Vision challenges, members of TransitionLymington team have found fun and inspiration, and if you haven’t discovered them yet, now is agreat time to do so.Get involved this year by coming along to our next 3 events, being held at Lymington CommunityCentre from 9.30 -12.30pm.Saturday 15th February - we are running our 3rd Repair Cafe in the Gates Hall with ourvolunteer repairers keen to help you with your clothing, darning and electrical repairs.We have also invited Figgures bikes who will carry out a free 20 point safety check onyour bike. 9.30-12.30 Entry by donation. Refreshments will be available.Saturday 15th February - Lymington Clothes Swap. please Bring along clean clothes youdon’t want or need anymore and take away clothes you can wear and enjoy! This willrun alongside the Repair Cafe - just in case you need any minor repairs or alterations.9.30 -12.30 pm Entry by donation. Refreshments will be available.Saturday 14th March - Jean Genie - our biannual up-cycling event where we will have atable of jeans, fabrics, beads, buttons, ribbons and more… we invite you to come and useour sewing machines and make something useful and beautiful!
